The markup identifies the page as an Article, identifies its headline, and identifies Rebecca Camille as the person who wrote it.
Those labels and details give search engines a structured description of the content.
The schema you use should be based on what is actually on the page, not on what you would like the page to represent.
Its value is in making the information on your page easier for search engines to understand accurately.
When Google evaluates information about a business, your Google Business Profile does not exist in isolation.
Your website is another source of information about the business, including the services and products it offers.
If your Google Business Profile says you provide a particular service, information about that service on your website can help support a consistent picture of what your business offers.
Schema markup can also identify that service more explicitly. For example, an electrician with a page describing electrical panel upgrades could include markup like this:

In this example, the markup identifies Electrical Panel Upgrades as a Service, identifies Example Electric as the business providing it, and identifies San Jose as an area the service is provided in.
The schema does not create the service or make the business relevant for it simply because those words were added to the code.
The service should also be genuinely offered by the business and supported by the visible content on the website.
The clearer and more consistent that information is, the easier it is to connect the pieces.
Schema markup adds another layer of clarity by identifying information on the website in a standardized way.
Think about NAP consistency. Your business name, address, and phone number should consistently identify the same business wherever they appear.
Schema works on a similar principle, but it can describe much more than your basic business information.

Some website platforms provide a straightforward place to add custom schema or structured data to an individual page.
Others generate some schema automatically or require you to use a custom-code area, plugin, or other method to add or change it.
That means you may already have some schema on your website even if you have never added it yourself.
Automatically generated schema can be helpful, but it should still be checked.
The schema a platform creates may be technically valid without accurately identifying all of the information that is important to that particular page.
For example, a platform may identify a page broadly as a WebPage when the page contains more specific information that could be described, such as an Article, Service, Product, or other type of content.
The goal isn't simply to have schema.
The goal is to have schema that accurately describes what is on the page.
You put information on your website so people can find and understand what your business offers.
Schema markup provides another way to make sure search engines can clearly interpret that information too.
If your website says that you provide electrical panel upgrades, adding accurate Service schema can reinforce what that information represents: this is a service, this business provides it, and this is the area it serves.
Schema markup does not decide where your business ranks.
It is another check that the information you want search engines to understand has been clearly identified.
You don't have to search through the code of your website to find out what schema has been added.
